英语中看的用法

知识点解析

英语里关于“看”这个字，有好几个单词（话说老外怎么那么麻烦）。这几个单词经常被用到和考到，我们去“看看”这些单词都是谁。

• look
这是我们最长用到的“看”。他通常表示看这个“动作”。比如：

Look! He is over there.
看！他在那儿。

• see
这个“看”，通常强调看到的“内容和结果”。比如：

How many words can you see in the sentence?
你能看到句子里有多少单词？

• watch
这个“看”，通常用于专注、仔细的观看电视、比赛等，强调“看的过程”。比如：

watch a movie
watch TV
watch a match

• read
这个“看”相比其他几个，更容易区分，他实际是“读”的意思。比如：

read books
read newspaper
read novel

这两个短语都表示“散发，发出”之意，一般可以换用，但侧重点有所不同。

  • give off 通常用来表示“散发，发出”某种气体或气味。
  • give out 则通常用来表示“散发”某种光、声、热、信号等物理现象。此外，它还可以表示“分发、宣布、耗尽、付出”等意思。

• give back

• in the case of

大家看到in the case of ...这样的短语，都觉得非常好理解，case的意思为”事例、案例、情形”。整个短语意为”在…情形下，在…例子中”。如：

in the case of sick leave 
在病假的情况下

in the case of his health
就他的健康看来

• in that/this case

这是一组介词短语，表“在那样／这样的情形下”，比如新概念二册50课里，有这样的句子：

然而，当in和case中间的词消失后，一切都变了～～
